Welcome to NestWise ("we", "our", or "us"). NestWise
is a property management application designed to simplify the
relationship between property owners, caretakers, and tenants across
Kenya and beyond.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and
safeguard your information when you use our mobile application or
related services. Please read it carefully. If you disagree with any
part of this policy, please discontinue use of the app.
By creating an account or using NestWise, you acknowledge that you
have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.
1 Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly

phone number, and password when you register.

Role-specific data: your role as property owner,
caretaker, or tenant.

Property & unit data: property names,
addresses, unit numbers, rent amounts, and deposit details.

Tenancy information: lease start/end dates, rent
amounts, and tenancy status.

Payment records: rent payment submissions, amounts,
dates, and payment proof images.

Complaints: titles, descriptions, and status
updates submitted via the app.

Vacation notices: intended move-out dates, reasons,
forwarding addresses, and contact numbers.

Profile images & property photos: images you
upload for units and properties.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device information: device type, operating system,
and unique device identifiers.

Usage data: features accessed, actions performed,
and session timestamps.

Log data: error logs and crash reports to help us
improve the app.
1.3 Camera & Storage Permissions
NestWise requests access to your device camera and photo library
solely for uploading property images, unit photos, and payment proof.
We do not access your media for any other purpose.
2 How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:

Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.

Enable core property management features: unit listings, tenancy
tracking, payment recording, and complaint management.

Facilitate communication between property owners, caretakers, and
tenants within the platform.

Send in-app notifications about payment confirmations, complaint
updates, and vacation notice status changes.
- Process and display rent payment submissions and histories.

Generate property occupancy statistics and financial summaries for
owners and caretakers.
- Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Comply with applicable Kenyan laws and legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to
third parties, or use it to build marketing profiles.
3 Information Sharing & Disclosure
3.1 Within the Platform
Certain information is shared between users as necessary for the app
to function:

Tenant contact details are visible to their assigned property owner
and caretaker.

Unit and payment information is visible to the relevant owner and
caretaker.

Complaint details are shared with the caretaker or owner responsible
for resolution.

Vacation notices are visible to the caretaker and owner of the
relevant property.
3.2 Service Providers
We share data with trusted third-party providers who assist us in
operating the app:

Supabase – backend database, authentication, and
file storage (servers may be located outside Kenya).

Firebase / Google Cloud – app hosting and
analytics.
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and
may not use it for their own purposes.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court
order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is
necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of NestWise, our
users, or the public.
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal
information to third parties for commercial purposes.
4 Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on
Supabase infrastructure with industry-standard
protections including:

Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all data exchanged between the
app and servers.
- Encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest.

Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access
data they are authorised to view.

Authenticated access — all data requests require a valid session
token.

Secure file storage for uploaded images with access-controlled
bucket policies.
While we implement robust security measures, no method of electronic
transmission or storage is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a
strong, unique password and keep your login credentials confidential.
5 Your Rights & Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold
about you.

Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or
incomplete data.

Deletion: Request deletion of your account and
associated personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.

Portability: Request your data in a structured,

Deleting your account will remove your personal profile. However,
transactional records (payments, tenancy history) may be retained as
required by Kenyan law.
6 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as:
- Your account remains active.
- It is necessary to provide you with our services.

records).
Upon account deletion, personal profile data is removed within
30 days. Anonymised or aggregated data may be
retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.
7 Children's Privacy
NestWise is intended for use by adults aged
18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child
has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and
we will delete such information promptly.
8 Third-Party Services
NestWise integrates with the following third-party services. Each has

9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we
will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top and notify users via an
in-app notice or email for material changes.

acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page
